Best Mexican Food

The two ladies working were both very friendly. I asked the cook what she liked, and her recommendation of the special was great. Don't let the "gas station food" idea scare you, it's not affiliated with the gas station at all. Very big menu with lots of options.

I've heard nothing but good stuff about this food. So I finally decided to try it. I was reluctant at first because the prices were so high. Then I saw the gentleman making my tortilla chips fresh, then I opened my to go box and the tacos were massive and delicious. Can't wait to try some more of the menu.

It's inside a gas station so we ordered to go. It is very pricy for the area and to go food but it was great. They have some tables in the back. Tamales were almost $5 a piece, but they were gigantic. The masa was more crumbly than I've had, but the pork was soooo delicious. The largest tamales I've ever seen! A churro was $4.50 for 1 piece, which I thought was way overpriced. The lengua tacos were great. My husband said the best lengua he's had. The carnita tostadas came with 2 huge portions for just under $15. Although not a place we would frequent, due to price, we will come back for sure. The ladies were super nice, too. They cook everything on the spot, so you have to wait, but I did hear people call ahead for pick up.

Best Mexican food I have ever tasted!! I was so skeptical at first with it being in a gas station but that instantly went away when I took my first bite. It was so amazing!! The food is phenomenal and you can have FRESH fruit juice. We always get the watermelon kind and have tried the mango as well. I absolutely love coming here!

First time trying. Wow. At first was thinking to myself the price was a little high (in my opinion) but then when I was handed my Togo bag I thought this is heavyyy the burrito was huge! Which explained the price point. Well worth it!

I'm a cook, and my wife is from Mexico and hands down this is the best Tamale I've ever had in America. Tacos were delicious but the mixo was the best! Pretty pricey compared to my #1 spot but the serving size is definitely up to par with price.. had a hard time finding the place, expected it to be it's own place but was located INSIDE the gas station and there was almost nowhere to stand.. and be ready to order when u finally get spoken to, because the girl behind the counter has ZERO patience for lookers... with that being said I'll be going back just for the Tamales

Great authentic Mexican street tacos !

This is (hands down) the best Mexican food that Ive had in the area. Everything is made in house, and the tacos are absolutely delicious. This is one of very few places in this area that makes Mexican food on par with (in this case maybe a little better than) what we were eating in Texas. My wife had enchiladas, and I had a carnitas, a mixto (chorizo and carnitas), and a pastor taco. All of it was stellar, and the house-made sauces (ranging from mild to a very smoky and fairly hot red sauce) were amazing compliments to the food. The guy who runs this place is incredibly polite and made an already great experience that much better. The only downside is the location, but overlook it, plop down in a chair, and have one of the best plates of Mexican food youre going to find in the Tampa area.

Who cares if it in a gas station. This is where the best tacos are found. Try the Horchata as well.

First and foremost, I just want to say that I've been searching for good Mexican food in Florida for years, and Tallahassee was the only place that I knew of that had a decent spot (only went there once due to living in Pasco). El Chapo is inside a gas station, which I already knew was going to be good! The young lady that assisted us, was patient and shared some history about the food we were ordering, which was a plus for me.

We ordered a Carne Asada Torta, a couple of Burritos, some Chicken Empanadas, and a Churro. You're getting better quality food for their price point, and a nice sized portion might I add. I'm a big guy, and I was only able to eat half my Torta, and snacked on the other half throughout the day lol. Me and my family thoroughly enjoyed the food, and plan on coming back soon.

My only complaint is this, I wish we would've gone earlier in the day to try their tamales and the steak empanadas. Please give this place a try.

I just happen to stop for gas at this shell station and as I walked got hit with the most delicious smells ever! I look over at this little open kitchen and see two ladies cooking Mexican food. I had to order and glad I did cause I have been a customer ever since. The steak chimichanga is my go to and there home made hot sauce and guacamole is a must have. Everything is good and worth the stop if in the area. To me best Mexican food in the area hands down!

Tried a chorizo and carnitas taco. Prices were a little high I paid 4.94 for each taco bill came up to 11.68 but it was worth it. Portions were excellent and the flavor was also there. Salsa for the taco was also amazing. Haven't really had tacos that good since Don taco (before they got popular).

Had a craving for Mexican food today, and when the best-closest place wasn't open decided to give Tacos El Chapo a try, based on the image they had of beautifully fresh tacos and other reviews, "Yeah, they're in a Shell gas station, eat there anyway" and wow - it was amazing.

I tried Birria for the first time, and they were sfutted all the way through with beef, had great flavor and toppings. I especially enjoyed the brown salsa and the raddishes on top - great flavor and good crunch.

My partner got a burrito with some extra ground beef, which I thought would be incorporated into the burrito, but was served on the side. He put it on top, along with more of that flavorful brown salsa and found it very tasty.

Chips were pretty standard, but their salsa was super flavorful.

Only comment I have is that I'd have liked more of both the salsa with the chips, and the brown salsa which accompanied both dishes.

This is our new favourite Mexican place, and we plan to return!

Don't let the fact that its in a gas station scare you away if you're looking for some good Mexican food! The food was made to order and absolutely delicious and the tamales are to die for. I highly recommend and spread the word about this place. WAY better that D tacos in Tarpon Springs, Fl or any other, A must try. I would suggest to call in an order for pick up IF your not going to eat there. They do have 3 tables to sit and enjoy your food.

Great taco place finally in Port richey area. Some of the best tacos I've had no lie there. Only downside is it's quite pricey :( 36 dollars for 3 birria tacos 3 al pastor and an agua Fresca. Would definitely make it an often stop if it wasn't so pricey.
