Best birria tacos I've found around here! Well worth it...and multiple delicious aguas frescas to choose from. If you're hungry for some great food, check these guys out! I drive 20 min for them when I can

Excellent Elote (Mexican Corn) and I had both Chicken and beef Tacos both vety good with lots of meat!

With a large variety of different meals to choose from they have any meal to fit whatever or whoever desires. Priced well and the food was amazing puts every other big restaurant in New port richey to shame simply because they cannot compete with this 100% true authentic taste.

Great authentic Mexican street tacos !

This is (hands down) the best Mexican food that Ive had in the area. Everything is made in house, and the tacos are absolutely delicious. This is one of very few places in this area that makes Mexican food on par with (in this case maybe a little better than) what we were eating in Texas. My wife had enchiladas, and I had a carnitas, a mixto (chorizo and carnitas), and a pastor taco. All of it was stellar, and the house-made sauces (ranging from mild to a very smoky and fairly hot red sauce) were amazing compliments to the food. The guy who runs this place is incredibly polite and made an already great experience that much better. The only downside is the location, but overlook it, plop down in a chair, and have one of the best plates of Mexican food youre going to find in the Tampa area.

Who cares if it in a gas station. This is where the best tacos are found. Try the Horchata as well.

First and foremost, I just want to say that I've been searching for good Mexican food in Florida for years, and Tallahassee was the only place that I knew of that had a decent spot (only went there once due to living in Pasco). El Chapo is inside a gas station, which I already knew was going to be good! The young lady that assisted us, was patient and shared some history about the food we were ordering, which was a plus for me.

We ordered a Carne Asada Torta, a couple of Burritos, some Chicken Empanadas, and a Churro. You're getting better quality food for their price point, and a nice sized portion might I add. I'm a big guy, and I was only able to eat half my Torta, and snacked on the other half throughout the day lol. Me and my family thoroughly enjoyed the food, and plan on coming back soon.

My only complaint is this, I wish we would've gone earlier in the day to try their tamales and the steak empanadas. Please give this place a try.

I just happen to stop for gas at this shell station and as I walked got hit with the most delicious smells ever! I look over at this little open kitchen and see two ladies cooking Mexican food. I had to order and glad I did cause I have been a customer ever since. The steak chimichanga is my go to and there home made hot sauce and guacamole is a must have. Everything is good and worth the stop if in the area. To me best Mexican food in the area hands down!

Everything was wonderful. I am picky about Birria and my salsa and both of these items were phenomenal. Oh goodness the Horchata! I live an hour away and I will be traveling back here just for the food

The atmosphere, despite being in a gas station, was surprisingly free from the typical smells associated with such places. While the presence of a volleyball team hosting a car wash fundraiser was a bit annoying, it didn't significantly distract from the overall experience. Tried a chorizo and carnitas taco. Prices were a little high I paid 4.94 for each taco bill came up to 11.68 but it was worth it. Portions were excellent and the flavor was also there. Salsa for the taco was also amazing. Haven't really had tacos that good since Don taco (before they got popular).

Had a craving for Mexican food today, and when the best-closest place wasn't open decided to give Tacos El Chapo a try, based on the image they had of beautifully fresh tacos and other reviews, "Yeah, they're in a Shell gas station, eat there anyway" and wow - it was amazing.

I tried Birria for the first time, and they were sfutted all the way through with beef, had great flavor and toppings. I especially enjoyed the brown salsa and the raddishes on top - great flavor and good crunch.

My partner got a burrito with some extra ground beef, which I thought would be incorporated into the burrito, but was served on the side. He put it on top, along with more of that flavorful brown salsa and found it very tasty.

Chips were pretty standard, but their salsa was super flavorful.

Only comment I have is that I'd have liked more of both the salsa with the chips, and the brown salsa which accompanied both dishes.

This is our new favourite Mexican place, and we plan to return!

Don't let the fact that its in a gas station scare you away if you're looking for some good Mexican food! The food was made to order and absolutely delicious and the tamales are to die for. The cost is a little higher because they have the best quality and freshness. The portions are large. I ordered 4 tacos and could have been super stuffed with just 3. They made my super white friend an American style taco, which I anticipated would be a trashy flour taco, but was the most beautiful taco I've ever seen. Almost made me order one for myself. Great taco place finally in Port richey area. Some of the best tacos I've had no lie there. Only downside is it's quite pricey :( 36 dollars for 3 birria tacos 3 al pastor and an agua Fresca. Would definitely make it an often stop if it wasn't so pricey.

Wow!! I'm a taco connoisseur I alway try new spots around the state when I can. And I have to say hands down this place is the best I've ever tried. The taco portions are on the bigger side then most places and the flavor was flawless. Highly recommend this place you won't be disappointed.

Soooooo..... ill start by saying hands down the best birria tacos I have ever had in florida. I am a huge taco fanatic and they have won my heart and my stomach. Id highly recommend them to anyone.

The food is AMAZING! My husband and I went on a lunch date for Birria tacos (only served thursday-saturday) and authentic horchata and we were so happy!! Everyone was so sweet and they even gave us chips and salsa since it was our first time. The location is a little hard to find because they are actually INSIDE the shell gas station, but it is seriously a hidden gem. Everything was so good we even ordered empandas for dinner to go. We will definitely be back
